Weighing In - Week Nine

Don't forget to check out the stuff you missed in week eight while you were away... a tasty recipe for Pumpkin Fluff and a sentimental look back on what we've accomplished during the first two months. Just click on the archives in the lower right hand corner of the blog.

For “Weighing In”, you should post the following things: (1) your weight loss, maintenance or GAIN (yes, own up to it if it's true) for the past week (2) your personal goal for the rest of the week (try to restrict it to one) and (3) your anticipated non-food reward for achieving that goal. Since it seems we are all choosing to weigh-in on Tuesdays, I will create a post for every new week the day before we weigh-in (Monday). This would be a good post to add encouraging words for other individuals as well.

Not an exciting week for me--I maintained--but definitely a good one because I didn't gain! Brad is away for the week so my goal is not to eat any of his snacks while he's gone. I purchased some healthy snacks to keep me on the right track, buuuuut we know how easy it is to derail so I'm making it an official goal.

Woo-hoo! I weighed in at 190, down 2 lbs this week. I need to lose 2lbs each week for the next 7 to meet my goal. So, here goes....

My goal is to just keep keepin' on. I'm pleased with my progress, so I'm just going to try to stay on task.

So I have been off in Cali for the last 10 days so I'm sorry I missed a weigh in and I'm late for this one. Anyway, as hard as I tried to be decent it didn't work out. It's so much easier to just go with the flow while traveling. Needless to say I gained 5 pounds. :( I WILL take it off this week though or at least eat healthy trying :)

Good work Kristen and Lindsay! Sara, I have been bad as well, and now I, too, am going on vacation. To Vegas....land of the great buffets!! I will weigh in and start fresh on eating right when I come back. I will also catch up on reading this site. I have to read the rest of this page and last week and maybe even the week before. However, I often have free time in Vegas where I get on the laptop for amusement so I'm sure I will be able to catch up while I am there.Hugs to you All!

Hey, I'll be honest... I don't stick to the plan on vacations either. If you can't be free and happy on vacations, then what's the point of living? Okay, a bit dramatic, but I'm serious. Well, glad to have you all back, and an extra congrats to Linds for such a great week!

Gee, Kristen, thanks for the "permission" to enjoy the buffets! ;)

I agree on the buffets...Live it up! My problem with weight loss until recently was that I thought I couldn't eat what I wanted to. Now I know that simply isn't true. As long as you don't fool yourself that you won't gain and you go in knowing that you're going to have to do extra work to make up for it, eat what you want. Empower yourself to make choices that make you happy, and then take the consequences in stride.

Heck, I cheat all the time. But, I know I'm going to pay for it later. But, I also know that if I don't allow myself an indulgence now and then, I'm going to binge and blow it.

April, go and enjoy yourself. Just be ready to hit it hard when you come back!

And Sara, I hope your vacation was great. I just know your going to get right back on the horse and kick some butt!

Kris, I hope you're sticking to your goal without Brad home. You better be eating those healthy snacks, missy! They're good for your tum tum magoo!
