Questions - Week One

My mom mentioned that it would be a good idea to also have a post just for questions. If you have questions about the program, I will answer them according to what I know... and if I don't know, I still have the massive leader manuals where I can look up answers. General questions can be answered by anyone if you know the answer.

NOTE TO ALL: I will be changing this page tomorrow morning to "Week Two". I've also decided to change the main page on Monday evenings from now on, that way when we weigh-in, we will post it at the beginning of the week rather than the end. We can look at our postings all week long rather than only for a few hours on a Tuesday evening. That would make more sense. So even if you post your results for the week today, please copy/paste and repost them tomorrow (or the next day, whatever). After that, I think things will run smoothly from that point on....... YAY! Please email with specific questions/concerns about that particular idea of mine.

Mom emailed me two questions. I've created a post for them, as any question could be someone else's as well. Here they are: (1) Is it very bad to save a lot of points for later in the day, or should they be interspersed? (2) Is one allowed to go below their points?

My answers: (1) It is perfectly okay to eat as few or many daily points in one sitting as you would like. You could eat a couple 0 point items during the course of the day and then eat ALL of your points at an evening meal, if you would like. Weekly points work the same way... you could eat all 35 in a single evening. As long as you don't exceed your daily and bonus points in a single week, you are still following the plan. (2) Do not go below your daily points. This is a very common mistake. The daily points are already at the minimum you should be eating for your current weight. Eating that number will allow you to lose weight at a healthy rate without depriving your body of the minimum number of calories it needs for normal functions. If you want to cut back, then don't eat the weekly bonus points. If you eat fewer than your number of daily points, you could actually even gain weight; believe it or not, but that is a common consequence.
